Prof. Haner Direskeneli is a Professor of Rheumatology and is currently the Chief of Vasculitis Clinic and Division of Rheumatology, Department of Medicine in Marmara University, School of Medicine, Istanbul, Turkey.
He graduated from Istanbul University, had residency trainings in Internal Medicine/ Rheumatology in Marmara University and fellowships in Lupus Research Unit at St. Thomas’ Hospital (1992) and Department of Oral Immunology in UMDS, London UK (1992-1993).
His current main research interests are genetics, immune mechanisms, infectious etiology, diagnosis with Doppler US and management of ‘Behcet’s Disease’ and genetics, immune mechanisms, disease assessment with imaging/outcome tools and management of ‘Takayasu’s arteritis”.
Prof. Direskeneli is a member of OMERACT Large-vessel Vasculitis and Behcet’s Study Interest Groups, and is part of the EULAR Taskforce for Imaging in Large-vessel Vasculitis. He is also a member of ACR Global Engagement Committee and has >250 peer-reviewed articles.
