Dr. Maisam Wahbah received the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Khalifa University, Abu Dhabi, UAE. In 2019, she joined the Healthcare Engineering Innovation Center (HEIC), Department of Biomedical Engineering at Khalifa University as a Post-Doctoral Fellow. Her research works involves multiple domains including, but are not limited to renewable energy characterization for optimal energy utilization through reliable statistical models of wind speed and solar irradiance resources for electrical power systems long-term planning and design studies, analysing the interaction between the pregnant mother and the fetus by using ECG signals recorded from human as well as mice subjects, and power conversion circuits for the piezo electric energy harvester for fully-autonomous biomedical system.

Dr. Wahbah is currently an Assistant Professor at the College of Engineering and Information Technology at the University of Dubai, UAE. She is the Chairperson for the Awards and Recognition Committee at the IEEE UAE Section, and she was the Vice Chair of the prestigious 2024 IEEE Women in Engineering International Leadership Summit. Her research interests include signal processing, biomedical data analysis, nonparametric statistical modelling, and circuits and systems.
