Professor Proton Rahman is a clinician-scientist based in St. John’s, Newfoundland, Canada. He holds the John Lewis Paton Distinguished University Professorship at Memorial University and serves as the Chief of Rheumatology in Newfoundland and Labrador Health Services. His research focuses on the genetic epidemiology of complex rheumatic diseases, and he has a particular clinical interest in prognostic and therapeutic studies in psoriatic arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis. Dr. Rahman has received numerous national and international awards for his work and has published over 300 scientific articles in rheumatology and genetics journals.
