Prof. Satish Chandra is a Clinician, and a United States trained professional with proven accomplishments in medical research and innovation, clinical trials, clinical audits, research ethics and regulations, Joint Commission accreditation, health technology incubators, care quality, medical residency training, and patient safety. He has served in the Senior Management of multinational pharmaceutical industries and as a Senior Faculty at academic medical centers in the USA, India, and UAE.
He is the original inventor of; “The Human Major Depressive Disorder Gene (Genbank 1997)”, modified Draize Eye test, and improved scoring for gold labelling for mitosis assessment. He is also the recipient of several global awards from the USA, Japan, Switzerland, including the Innovator of the Year 2018-2019, and Technology Innovation Pioneer (2020) from the UAE. His leadership in promoting research and clinical trials was rewarded with awards from the Department of Health Abu Dhabi (2024), Ministries of Health UAE (2023 & 2024) and the Life Time Achievement Award (2023) for medical research and residency training by Tawam Hospital/SEHA.
He has published over 120 international high impact research papers in Lancet (2020), Breast (2020) & Contemporary Clinical Trials (2020), International Journal Public Health (2021), pLOS, BMC Infectious Diseases and the International J of General Medicine. He enjoys teaching, research and is on the editorial board as associate editor in chief of international medical journals from the USA. He is also a member of the International Consultants Advising on Research Priorities and Strategies, USA.
Prof. Satish is currently the Director of Medical Research at Tawam Hospital (SEHA) – Pure Health, and a Professor at the College of Medicine at the UAE University, and University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB). His research methodology training program (CREDIT) and GCP training for doctors has been cited in Nature Springer, and since then has trained over 4000 doctors and other healthcare providers.
