Nancy E. Lane is a Distinguished Professor of Medicine and Rheumatology at the University of California at Davis School of Medicine. She has been a leading expert in both understanding the biology of osteoporosis and the treatment of osteoporosis. Dr. Lane and her research group performed the seminal proof of concept study in which hPTH (1-34) could reverse glucocorticoid-induced osteoporosis. Dr. Lane authored over 400 peer reviewed research articles. Dr. Lanes contributions to science and medicine have been recognized with election to the National Academy of Medicine, Master of the American College of Rheumatology, Master of the American College of Physicians, Fellow of the American Society of Bone and Mineral Research and recent recipient of the International Osteoporosis Foundation, Council of Scientific Advisors lifetime achievement award.
