Prof. Leonardo Oliveira Mendonça earned his degree in medicine at the Federal University of Grande Dourados, in 2009. After he did medical specialization in Internal Medicine and Clinical Immunology and Allergy at the Hospital das Clínicas da Universidade de São Paulo, in 2011 and 2012, respectively.

Due to his interest in inflammatory disorders, he moved to Bethesda – USA (coordinated by Raphaela Goldbachmansky) for a Fellowship in Autoinflammatory Disease at the NIAID in 2013/4 and to a Clinical and Laboratory Fellowship at the Istituto Giannina Gaslini – Italy (coordinated by Marco Gattorno) in 2016/17.

Prof. Mendonça currently works in translational Program of Autoinflammatory/Immunedysregulatory Diseases at the Hospital das Clínicas – University of São Paulo, he is the Head of Centre for Rare and Immunological Disorders at DASA – Hospital 9 de Julho and Full Professor of Clinical Immunology and Allergy at UNISA – Universidade de Santo Amaro, São Paulo.
